One highlight is the decorative wood carvings and rare iconographic pieces by Tom Van Pelt who began collecting such pieces many years ago. Both the avid collector and practicing Buddhist can find a wide variety of hand carved teakwood statues from Burma or bronze Buddha statues from Cambodia.
One may also find rare ceremonial bowls from the 17th century Tibet as well as ritual instruments, some of which are exquisitely detailed with spectacular inlay woodwork.
Tom Van Pelt also displays a wide variety of European monies including various European and Nazi coins as well as stones and shells used in ancient times for barter.

Fine embroidery from China as well as hand-painted scrolls can be found among a variety of Chinese artifacts housed in the Monmouth Antique Shoppes. Booth owner, Victor Chen, gracefully displays authentic hand-carved Chinese puppets from 1800 among small and large classic Chinese household furniture, such as the Horseshoe Chair or Hat Style Chair. In addition, one can find ornamental hand-carved wooden wall panels and screens.
Each piece is selected by Victor Chen on his visits to various Chinese provinces known for both antique relics dating as far back as the Ming Dynasty to small villages known for their traditional carvings.
